Not everyone can disappear to Portugal for a week. Between work, family and real life, sometimes the only gap in the diary is a single Sunday. That's exactly what a day retreat is for. One day, no flights, no packing dilemmas, and you're home in your own bed by evening feeling like you've been away for a week.
Cornwall might be the best place in the UK to do it. The north coast has proper Atlantic surf, coastal paths that reset your head within the first mile, and water that you'll talk about for weeks once you've been in.
A day retreat takes the ingredients of a residential wellness retreat (movement, good food, time in nature, a group of like-minded people) and fits them into a single structured day, usually around six hours. There's no accommodation, which also means a fraction of the price of a full retreat weekend.
It's the answer to the question we hear constantly: "I'd love to come on a retreat, but I can't get away." You can get away. For a day.
Every retreat runs differently, but here's the shape of ours, so you know what a well-run day should include:
Ours runs 10am to 4pm at Highcliffe on the north Cornish coast, and every guest leaves with a very special goody bag from our favourite brand partners.

No. A sea swim at a women's day retreat is a group dip, not a triathlon. You go in as far as feels good. The surf is optional too; some guests ride waves, some paddle, some keep their feet on the sand with a coffee. There is no version of the day where you fail.

Honestly: everyone. Solo guests who fancy a day for themselves (about half the group, usually), pairs of friends, mums on their one free Sunday, women training for something, women recovering from something. The group is the point. Expect to arrive knowing nobody and leave in the WhatsApp group.
Swimsuit, towel, trainers you can walk a coastal path in, a warm layer for after the water (Cornish sea air has opinions, even in August), and a water bottle. If you're surfing and have your own wetsuit, bring it; otherwise beach hire has you covered. We handle the rest, including catering for most dietary requirements. Just tell us when you book.
Late summer is the sweet spot: the sea is at its warmest (relatively speaking, this is still Cornwall), the light is golden into the evening, and the crowds thin out as August winds down.
Our next one is Sunday 16 August at Highcliffe, Cornwall. Spaces are limited, and our retreats have a habit of selling out. If a whole week away isn't possible this year, one perfect day absolutely is.
